This week’s Friday Five is packed full of all the juiciest EV industry information you’ve been waiting for! Musk is at it again, there are not one, but two wireless charging stories, a company famous for luxury looks to the future, and we take a trip to Italia. Enjoy!
LA is one of the largest cities in the US, but lacks any effective public transportation, leaving the city plagued with traffic. That all may soon change if Elon Musk’s Boring Company successfully integrates its underground tunnel system capable of whisking Angelinos around below the city at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour.
Charging on the Go
If you’re a fan of the EV industry, you may have heard rumors of special roads that can wirelessly charge electric vehicles as they drive over them. Well guess what, it’s actually happening! Sweden has built a 1.2 mile stretch of electrified road near Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport. Maybe someday you’ll never even have to charge your car at home.
Daimler Goes Green

The German auto-maker is launching an entirely electric sub-brand called “EQ” and plans on releasing ten fully electric models by 2022. Oh the times they are a changin’.
If you live on the West Coast of the US, you have probably heard of or seen Bird, a company that fills the streets with dockless shared electric scooters. You may have wondered how they get charged. It turns out that the process is a little more intense than you may have thought.

Its cobbled alleys are full of incredible galleries, restaurants, and boutiques. Florence can be difficult to navigate by car, if only there was a small, convenient vehicle that let you unlock the city easily and in style. Oh wait…
